Zombieland: Double Tap (2019) review
Given that it was ten years different from its predecessor, I feared the film would face the different comedy sequel curse, but my skepticism was quickly shaken.
The sequel remains really fun, featuring the return of funny narrative cutaways and the use of text for the sometimes creative, zombie apocalypse survival rules.
The four main characters returning remain great. Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) and Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) make a great oddball pairing with excellent chemistry. Emma Stone as Wichita continues to do a good job as the sarcastic response lady. I love the new character Madison (Zoe Diction). He’s a bimbo/airhead type, but he has a distinct quirk that makes the character unique. He always has the most random lines.
The plot itself is a bit light; The film mostly runs on jokes.
Overall, I had a good time with it and would recommend it.
