It’s one of the best superhero sequels ever, it’s epic scale with heart-stopping action and gorgeous visuals, bright and smart and funny, and it casts Wonder Woman as the most relatable and cheery hero in the DCEU. I confirm.

Gadot has proven to be one of the best examples of casting in superhero film history. She deftly, effortlessly embodies not only Diana’s warrior nature, but also her ambassadorial nature and her protective, nurturing nature. She approaches everyone with kindness and compassion, even her enemies. She loves what she loves most when not only is she saving or protecting people, but also when she is inspiring them to be better for each other and for themselves.
Gadot looks upset, she looks angry, she looks like Wonder Woman in battle, not the actor who played Wonder Woman in battle.

Visually, this is one of the best looking superhero movie in years. Real Value in a movie argues that Wonder Woman’s greatest superpower is her compassion and empathy, not fighting for the good.

Hans Zimmer’s score is one of his best and captures the 80s as well. Matthew Jensen’s cinematography is stunning, colorful and a feast for the eyes. Patty Jenkins is the hero we can’t see on screen. Most of the action was done with practical effects and CGI was used to enhance the effect.

Wonder Woman 1984 could be the movie defining 2020 and the choices we now face together.
