Let’s start with this, it’s a movie.
It just strikes me when people think about credibility when watching a fast-paced action thriller. What are the chances for the realities of the situation to live through something like this? In all honesty, most of us like to think that we know what we will do, but is there any possibility that this time pressure, fear and self-preservation can alter our decision-making skills? ? I think it can happen and I chose such films with that in mind. These were decisions he made in the moment and only the absolutely absurd should fall under the category of unreal.
I liked it. Russell Crowe was brilliant in his portrayal of a weary maniac. He really did a great job. I felt the story could have benefited with some more backstory on the characters but it was decent. The action sequences were well choreographed and the special effects were done well. It was definitely a stressful ride and it turned out to be very brutal at times. I’m a horror buff, so this is right up my alley, but I read a review that described it as torture porn and it’s not that bad unless you’re a total light-weight.
I know this will be a movie that I watch more than once. Forget the review snob and see it for yourself.
