In San Andreas, California is experiencing a statewide earthquake that easily goes on record as the largest earthquake in history. Dwayne Johnson plays Ray Gaines, a helicopter rescue pilot for the Los Angeles Fire Department, trying to find his daughter, Blake (Alexandra Dadrio), who is in San Francisco amid the chaos. Meanwhile Caltech researchers Dr. Lawrence Hayes and Dr. Kim Park travel to a dam to investigate their seismic studies and the dam collapse is triggered by a strong earthquake.
