Elle Fanning and Harris Dickinson in Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019)

The new struggle in filmmaking these days: good and sometimes even excellent visuals against a boring and bad script. The whole film tastes like a stale beer: while those responsible for visuals and effects have developed high skill, most writers today should quit their jobs and serve dinner instead of torturing audiences on a braindead level : uninteresting and overused story, cliché after cliché, one-dimensional characters, boring dialogue, jokes that don’t work, etc. My rate is 5 but only because of the visuals and the actors, the story itself and hence the film is just a boring one.
