Story Line:

Ash Williams, his girlfriend Linda and three other friends move to a cabin in the woods of Tennessee. They rent a cabin for a song – overlooking the scene – and find the place to be in good shape, though they encounter strange occurrences and noises from the time they arrive. In the basement, they find a strange book and tape recording with a translation of the text. In playing the tapes, they release an evil force that is bent on killing them. One by one they become possessed and attack the others. In the end, only one will be left.
